I am on research leave to China. I am not sure whether or not wordpress is accessible from behind the great Chinese firewall. In case I won’t be able to post messages, I will collect what is interesting and post it after my return early October.
back from a short trip to East Asia I am resuming work on this blog. I am happy to inform you that Prof. Liu Lung-hsin from Soochow University in Taipeh has joined the team to cover, among other topics, discussions in Taiwan on e.g. the recent history textbook controversy. I will keep posting texts and would like to encourage colleagues in the field of research on Chinese historical thinking and historiography to join and turn this into a truly collective blog, thus freeing up time for each of us not just posting texts, but actually providing comments and entering into discussion. For this purpose I will soon implement the comments section.
I am travelling in East Asia for two weeks and will only occasionally post some links.
This blog has been attracting quite some traffic over the past two months, however, due to the work load coming with it I have only been posting links to texts without adding any abstracts in English or commenting on the texts posted. The aim of this blog is to establish a platform for researchers interested in the changes the historical field is ondergoing in contemporary China. In order to achieve that goal I would like to invite other experts sharing the work load, each focusing on a specific topical area or a specific type of information. All those reading this blog occasionally, please give me your feedback and let me know in case you’re interested in participating.
